The Industrial Diamond Industry, whether measured by diamond products synthesised or diamond tools produced, has grown steadily and strongly over the last 50 years. Some of the early pioneering companies in synthesis have been active and present in the Industry for more than 50 years, whereas the use of diamond in abrasive tooling has a longer history of several hundred years. With this history, it is hardly surprising that the need has arisen for the Industrial Diamond Industry to have both an outlet and a focal point to inform current and future potential users of diamonds enormous potential to add value to and solutions for their many industrial applications.
Diamond At Work provides a web based focal point for this purpose, demonstrating many successful industrial applications of diamond (and CBN) in both the traditional abrasive applications areas but also exposing and encouraging the adoption of diamond in one of its many industrial forms into novel areas such as laser windows, radiation detectors and active or passive electronic devices. Diamond At Work’s website will showcase these stories and reports as they become available.
In addition to its web content, Diamond At Work is committed to promoting and organising a bi-annual International Industrial Diamond Conference, to feature novel and interesting developments in the world of industrial diamond (and CBN). The first such Conference, The 1st International Industrial Diamond Conference was held in Barcelona, Spain in October, 2005 and such was the support and demand for a sequel that the 2nd International Industrial Diamond Conference was held in Rome, Italy on April 19th /20th, 2007. This proved to be even more successful than the first one.
The ultimate mission objective of Diamond At Work is to stimulate both end user and manufacturing demand for diamond as a performance enabling material in both abrasive and non-abrasive environments and applications. Sustained effort by Diamond At Work will be maintained on its Web site and through its bi-annual International Industrial Diamond Conferences, to achieve this mission objective. If at a future date, a potential Diamond At Work ingredient branding opportunity arises, then this will be pursued.
Diamond At Work is a limited Company registered in the U.K. which has the assistance of an International Advisory Board drawn from leading and important industrials and organisations within the Industrial Diamond Industry.
